I agree wholeheartedly. Social Media is more about he Conversation Marketing and Attraction marketing and having great scope.

Your so right, great read.

Very good read. Social Media is teaching brands of the need to listen, how to listen and continue to listen to their consumers. Power to the people.

This is perfect advice for those hesitant to participate in Social Media (and by 'those' I mean clients!); thanks Trevor. Agree that face-to-face (and voice-to-voice) is even more significant for delevoping and maintaining social media connections. I've found online social networks valuable as a meeting place but definitely get the most from them when followed up with genuine conversation.

On the money. Scary for organisations letting go of the control/command paradigm with info flow, tho. There is a huge upside for them, however.

Ultimately, this is leading to a fuller realisation of - oh my god! - two-way symmetrical communication and all the potential this encompasses (I'll go quietly now...).

Spot on with Points 1. (Increase Transparency) and 2. (Cut the Jargon). The good thing about social media is that it shows a brand's personality and adds human dimensions to it. I love the fact that consumers can talk on a one to one basis with brands on such platforms... Which also means that it is high time some brands cut with the B.S. since everyone knows what is happening.
