Pizza Hut has launched a free iPhone app that features an augmented-reality enabled function, ‘GPS Store Finder’.

The app provides iPhone 3G users with the ability to find their nearest Pizza Hut store by utilising GPS technology, revealing small tabs highlighting the direction and distance of Pizza Hut locations.

The app also gives customers the ability to order food and drinks, save orders as an ‘ifav’ and includes a pizza delivery racing game for users to play while waiting for a delivery.

Pizza Hut Australia marketing director Valerie Kubizniak said the app offers all iPhone users a fun way of ordering from the restaurant.

“Interest in the Pizza Hut iPhone app was hot even before the local version was available, with Australians attempting to download the US app in the days after it launched so we’re confident it will be a hit,” said Kubizniak.

Unfortunately I don't like their pizzas, so I don't have a reason to use their app. Pizza Hut aren't the first to have a crack at an augmented and GPS app. Stella Artois launched a similar, very impressive app some months ago, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTERI1s-UyA
