Loop Mobile today (20th May) announced new progress in three of its global business relationships:
Via an agreement with MNC Wireless Berhad, Loop Mobile will see its MOKO mobile community localised for the Malaysian consumer. MNC will be responsible for marketing the MOKO mobile community to Malaysian mobile operators, as well as performing the editorial and moderation requirements for MOKO in Malaysia.
MNC is a Value Added Services specialist and has commercial relationships and billing services with Maxis, Celcom and DiGi, the three leading mobile telecommunications service providers in Malaysia. MNC is a public company listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange. There are 21.5 million mobile subscribers in Malaysia, with 3G services currently being rolled out to pre and post-paid subscribers.
Loop is implementing a distribution/promotion agreement with The Sun newspaper which will see MOKO available to The Sun’s mobile services audience. The Sun’s mobile edition is updated 24 hours a day with news, sports, horoscopes and show business headlines, and has over 280,000 unique users per month.
The current agreement with ITV plc in the UK for Loop to provide white-label mobile social networks based on three television programs will conclude on 2 June. Loop will continue to focus its efforts in the UK on its MOKO service.
