Something for the Weekend: Angry Mofo

Advertise with us

Today we encountered a seriously angry mofo who not only hates our magazine but is also clearly quite bitter about the questions in our online survey. Here are some of his most impassioned responses...

If you do not subscribe to Marketing magazine, can you tell us why not?

Waste of time and money. None available with specific information relevant to for my industry. Your selection above does not contain anything close so I selected one of your stupid abbreviations which I'm buggered if I know what it stands for FMCG (perhaps: Football Managing Committe Goofer)

Select your preferred prize should you be lucky enough to win from the items below:

NOT INTERESTED IN EITHER, I JUST FILLED IN THE QUESTIONNAIRE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT IT IS ONE OF THE WORST I HAVE SEEN! Maybe your team can learn something from my comments.

Enter your marketingmag.com.au REGISTERED USER NAME:

Thank God I don't have one and I don't want one either

Thinking about your answers in above, if you answered 'Other', please specify:

is vox pops supposed to be latin? Then it is wrong. Or does it refer to a musical event? Not bloody likely considering your selection of topics and your level of cultural relevance

Thinking about your answers in above, if you answered 'Other', please specify:

WHAT ARE ALL THESE SILLY ABBREVIATIONS? CSR makes sugar, thats very relevant for the music industry... SOS, SME, SEM, SEO, B&B, B&T... Don't assume people know what it stands for OK or KO?

Name:

NO WAY

Editor's note: if you are out there Mr No Way, here are a few tips to explain our "silly" survey:

Vox pop (noun) public opinions gathered in interviews: the impromptu opinions of ordinary members of the public as gathered by a radio or television interviewer

FMCG = fast moving consumer goods (ah... it's only one of the most traditional of all marketing sectors)

SEO = search engine optimisation (it's for that new fangled thing called the world wide web, you should check it out)

CSR = Corporate Social Responsibility (er... read the news buddy)

Thanks Barber, as usual a giggle on Friday. Hilarious. Perhaps we would start a Marketing dictionary in the same vein...perhaps as follows:

SEO: Smoothly Engaging Others
CSR: Companies Selling Responsibility
FMCG: Flogging Millions of Chinese Goods

Actually I'm not very good at this, but perhaps someone else can do better?

Reminds me of a great retort from Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam:

Adrian Cronauer:

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldnt we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then wed all be put out in K.P.

Hah... I met another mofo who agreed to fill out a survey for me... However, once he was done, he refused to hand it back to me.....and the survey was just a regular survey with nothing too personal.
But it seems like the people at Marketing Magazine got a better freak than I did.
