Former Australian Radio Network general manager, Steve Smith has been appointed the COO of Arab Radio Network (ARN) in Dubai, which consists of nine radio stations and is part of the multimedia company Arab Media Group.
Arab Media Group CEO, Mr Abdullatif Al Sayegh said that Steve's appointment comes at a time of tremendous growth for ARN and they will be utilizing his extensive experience of operating in senior management roles in Australia’s well-established media market.
"The criteria for the role were extensive and we were keen to appoint an experienced 'radio person' with a passion for great content and an energy that will help make ARN set the pace for FM radio internationally", Mr Al Sayegh said.
Smith's experience in Australian radio and entertainment spans over 15 years, including his five years as general manager of Australian Radio Network (Gold 104.3 and Mix 101.1, Melbourne) where he achieved record ratings and revenue results.
Smith is looking forward to starting in his new role, stating "This opportunity to work with the Arab Media Group is incredibly exciting. AMG have shown a real determination to set 'best practices' in broadcast and when this opportunity came my way I was immediately attracted by this commitment and passion."
