Would you buy Beckham’s undies through your TV?

If you could buy the clothes right off David Beckham’s back would you? H&M is hoping your answer is ‘yes’ as it gets set to launch its new TVC during this year’s Super Bowl. The spot will invite viewers to buy the former footballer’s underwear range straight off their TVs.

Viewers watching the broadcast via a Samsung smart TV will be able to use their remote controls to order the products modelled by the former English footballer. The system used has been dubbed ‘t-commerce’ because it’s through a TV (not to be confused with using the same term to refer to commerce on Twitter) and was developed by ad tech company Delivery Agent.

Audi, Bud Light, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola and Mars have invested an estimated $4 million for a 30-second TV ad during the Super Bowl which is set to air in the US on 2 February.

Beckham also starred in H&M’s 2012 Super Bowl ad, in which he was filmed shirtless modelling a pair of underwear. Check it out below:
