Research by the Pew Internet Project finds that experts are united in the expectation that embedded and wearable technology will comprise the next revolution in digital technology. Across homes, workplaces and cities, a global, immersive, invisible, ambient networked computing environment built through the continued proliferation of smart sensors, cameras, software, databases, and massive data centres in a world-spanning information fabric known as the internet of things.

Strategic research consultancy Frost & Sullivan forecasts the market potential of this ‘connected living’ paradigm at USD$731 billion into the next decade.
