Billboards as utility: IBM outdoor ads get smart

IBM has launched a series of outdoor ads that double as functional surfaces for the ‘People For Smarter Cities Project.’ The campaign was created in collaboration with Ogilvy & Mather France, is to encourage citizens and local leaders to consider how to make their neighbourhoods ‘smarter’.

 

 

The billboards double as a bench, a shelter from the rain and a bike ramp, taking the idea of utility and applying it to the traditional outdoor ad.
