First local Flickr TVC aims to raise awareness of relaunched product

Yahoo!7 has launched a locally-produced TVC in a push to raise awareness of Flickr, its online photo management platform, which relaunched globally earlier this year.

It’s the first time Flickr has been promoted in Australia with a local TVC, and follows a global refresh of the platform on 20 May (the same day Yahoo confirmed it had acquired social blogging platform Tumblr).

The 15 and 30-second TVCs form part of a two-month marketing campaign to support Flickr in the Australian market and can be seen on Seven, 7TWO, 7mate and featured on the Yahoo!7 network. It will also include Facebook and mobile advertising.

Local creative TVC direction and content company, Ideas Of Dean, wrote, produced and directed the spot, focusing on the cloud storage offering of one terabyte that allows users a home for photos in their original quality.
