NDD, a major magazine distributor, has announced it will cease operations in the near future.

The decision follows declining magazine volumes and the loss of News Magazines as an account.

NDD distributes Niche Medias titles, including Marketing magazine, which has seen growth rather than decline in readership – in line with the wider GFC success story within niche publishing.

The closure will primarily impact B2C publishers as consumer titles were NDDs major business.

It does come as a surprise, especially given no unit price increases (or such) were implemented prior to the decision, said Chantelle Ford, Niche Medias general manager of circulations and marketing.
