A new online series dedicated to coworking in the age of coronavirus

Share

Workit Spaces have created an online series called COVID Reality that follows the lives of entrepreneurs and small businesses who are navigating the COVID-19 crisis.

The free series is set in Workit Spaces – a Sydney-based coworking space – and gives access to the highs and lows of navigating a small business during a worldwide pandemic.

COVID reality covers a range of issues, from one small business experience high demand and eventually selling out of essential items, to another business going from $8,000 revenue per day to zero overnight.

The coworking space is home to 80 small to medium businesses from a wide variety of industries. There are representatives of businesses spanning fashion, food, candles, packaging, electronics, events, travel, media, videographers, digital marketing, architects, finance, health and wellness.

The unique video series gives the public real-time insight into how COVID-19 has impacted small businesses and not just the large corporations that saturate the news cycle. Furthermore the team from WorkIt Spaces believes that the series to educate the public and hopefully encourage the government to factor small businesses better in stimulus packages.

“COVID Reality hopes to educate the Australian people on what small business is facing right now as well as reaching out to our politicians to help produce more appropriate stimulus packages and policies. What’s good for small business is good for Australia’s economy. Small business is at war right now just to survive and these are the stories from the front line,” says Emily Townsend, the co-founder of WorkIt Spaces.
