Nicki Minaj features in H&M’s Christmas commercial as the mother of the protagonist, as well as ‘The Wisest Thingy’, the fictional fairy.

Fashion retailer H&M reveals its three-minute ‘A Magical Holiday’ commercial starring Nicky Minaj, Jesse Williams and John Turturro. The film centres around an improvised bedtime story about a heroic little girl who is on a mission to teach kindness to Santa Claus’ evil brother (played by Turturro) and save Christmas.

Minaj stars as the mother of the little girl, as well as the fabulous fairy, named the Wisest Thingy, while  Williams plays the dual role of the father who narrates the bedtime story and the supernatural Fastest Fairy.

“I love the film’s overall empowering message. I love seeing this young girl become the champion that lives in all of us. There’s always magic in the air during the Holidays,” Minaj says in a statement from H&M.

The film features a wide range of festive fashion for the whole family, available in stores and online during the Holiday campaign period.

“It’s exciting to see our festive designs come to life together with such inspirational talents. They definitely added some extra magic to the film and we hope that our customers will love how the fashion is presented throughout the holiday season at H&M,” says Pernilla Wohlfahrt, H&M’s head of design and creative director.
