Here are the highest performing Twitter brands of 2019

Twitter has released its 2019 top performer results, which include many brands that used the platform in innovative ways in 2019.

Twitter has named seven top performing brands and three notable mentions for the past year. The winners are:

  • Best purpose-driven campaign: @airbnb_au for its @AirbnbHelp bushfire support initiative.
  • Best use of live streaming: @IBMAustralia for the #ThinkAU Cloud Innovation Exchange.
  • Best digital-to-physical activation: @XboxANZ
  • Best creative short form: @Apple
  • Best connection to culture: @ANZ_AU
  • Best brand voice: @sportsbetcomau
  • Best way to fuel fans: @OptusSport

And notable mentions:

  • Great banter: @tarongazoo for starting #VDayPunOff
  • Great use of videos, gifs and humour: @BacheloretteAU
  • Great feel good moment: @Qantas CEO Alan Joyce’s reponse to a 10-year old competitor.

Airbnb’s support of NSW and QLD citizens affected by bushfires was the standout moment that landed the purpose-driven-campaign prize. The accommodation share app partnered with hosts to offer those impacted a safe place to stay.

Apple recognised the speed at which Twitter users scroll through its feed and caught them effectively with this six-second ad promoting the iPhone XR’s battery life.

ANZ bank claimed the Best Connection to Culture title with its support of the Sydney Mardi Gras. With pre-roll video in front of SBS’ live Twitter stream of the 2019 parade, ANZ found a voice around culture and engaged with the community.

Optus Sport found the Best Way to Fuel Fans with exclusive content to drive conversation and excitement around the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Taronga Zoo received notable mention for its Valentine’s Day #VDayPunOff with other wildlife organisations which received strong participation.

Qantas received notable mention for a Tweet in which CEO Alan Joyce responded directly to Jacquot, a competitor in-the-making.
