News Limited will launch a new creative division early next year as a support service for advertisers. The ‘creative hub’ hopes to help advertisers build their brands, presumably with a focus on buying media coverage within News Limited, and dish out advice to the brands on how to better engage with existing and new audiences.

News Limited Chairman and chief executive John Hartigan said that the division, which will open in early 2011, will be the industrys best support network for advertisers.

“Made up of creatives and strategists, this creative hub will be a hot-house of ideas, Hartigan said. Its purpose will be to provide our customers with world class multi-platform solutions that utilise the strength of our content combined with the unrivalled reach of our media brands.

Joe Talcott, will be heading up the new venture. Mr Talcott takes on the new role after five years as News Limited’s group director of marketing.

“Technology and consumer behaviours are changing at a blistering pace, Talcott said, yet it is the great idea that remains the clear competitive advantage. I am incredibly excited to lead this new endeavour; to collaborate with advertisers and their agencies in a new and innovative way.”
