Ad spend on Facebook is said to hit the $1.2 billion mark in 2010 according to marketing research firm, eMarketer, reported Nett.com.au.

Quoted in Nett’s article, senior analyst at eMarketing Debra Aho Williamson said, “Ad spending is building quickly and the mass audience is one that marketers cannot ignore any longer.”

The article detailed that American companies are taking to the social media site, with a predicted USD $ 835 million to stem from their 2010 ad spend.
