The International Maritime Organisation’s ‘Day of the Seafarer’ campaign aims to say thank you to the 1.5 million seafarers worldwide that work to transport 90% of household goods.

Originally inspired by 1920s and 30s travel posters, this charming video takes the viewer along for the ride for a day in the life of a sea freight worker. It thanks those who undergo the treacherous realities of a life at sea to transport our goods across oceans.

The Day of the Seafarer is held on 25 June each year and was started by the International Maritime Organisation to increase awareness among the general public of the indispensable services performed for international seaborne trade, the world economy and society at large.
