Sir Richard Branson has officially unveiled the design of SpaceShip2 for his Virgin Galactic brand at a base in the Mojave Desert in the US.

Branson’s fledgling space flight tourism brand was dreamt up by the well-known billionaire in 2004 to offer consumers sub-orbital spaceflights.

“Space is absolutely crucial… our sub-orbital space flights promise to be the most intense and wonderful experiences that our passengers have ever had,” Branson explained in a YouTube video on the companys website.

The company’s website indicated that SpaceShipTwo (SS2) and its mothership, VMS Eve (WhiteKnightTwo), it aims to conduct daily space tourism flights that would commence from Spaceport America in New Mexico after test programs were completed.

Tickets for the flight will cost customers $200,000.
