AOL has appointed Stephane Panier as head of Bebo’s global operations.

Former Bebo vice president and chief operating officer, Stephane Panier, has been promoted to global head of global operations.

Panier’s promotion delivers new responsibilities involving scaling
the social media network’s operations, advancing its global reach and
improving user experience.

New boss Jon Brod, executive vice president of AOL Ventures, said:

“Stephane is a proven strategist and operator with executive
experience from some of the world’s leading brands and businesses… He
is the ideal leader to build on Bebo’s existing successes, to chart a
course for its future, and to execute against that vision.”

Panier responded:

“The past nine months have seen us create and deliver a more
relevant and open social experience for our users across both new and
existing markets, and I look forward to building on this foundation.”

Before joining Bebo in 2009, Panier was involved with both senior
finance and operations at Google, an integral part of the AdSense
business. Panier has a wealth of international experience across
finance, operations and strategic consultancy.
