Daemon Group today announced a five-year, $24 million contract to provide marketing management services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The contract is the result of Daemon Group’s participation in a $405 million Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) tender consortium, which included Chandler Macleod Group (CMG), Corporate Health Group and EDS.
Daemon Group will assume responsibility for management of DFR’s marketing function from 1 November 2008, after a four-month transition in period beginning today. Daemon Group will be responsible for the management and strategic direction of DFR’s advertising, marketing and events campaigns to attract an estimated 10,000 to 11,000 new recruits each year for the Navy, Army and Air Force in order to reach the ADF’s full time strength targets. The contract may be renewed for up to an additional five years.
The successful tender was announced earlier today by the Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, the Hon. Warren Snowdon, after an extensive and competitive tender process.
Daemon Group chief executive, Richard Spencer, said this major marketing services tender, part of one of the largest recruiting process outsourcing contracts in the world, confirms Daemon’s ability to deliver and manage strategic marketing solutions nationally across multiple media.
The successful Defence recruitment marketing services contract is testament to the dedication of the tender team and to Daemon’s approach, which has focused on delivering truly integrated, media neutral communication strategies to meet our clients’ communication challenges, said Spencer.
The Defence contract award signals a significant step for the company’s marketing management business after two successive years of strong growth which each year saw Daemon on the BRW Fast 100, added Spencer.
Spencer also took the opportunity to thank CMG and the other consortium members for the dedication and resources committed throughout the tender process. Although it was a challenging tender, we were impressed by the leadership and professionalism of the CMG tender team. It was a pleasure to work along side them and Daemon Group looks forward to continuing that relationship throughout the life of the DFR contract, concluded Spencer.
