Macquarie Bank’s Visa Platinum Credit Card website, newformofcurrency.com, has been named an Official Honouree in the 12th Annual Webby Awards, the international awards for excellence on the internet.

Macquarie’s newformofcurrency.com is one of only 11 websites worldwide to receive Official Honouree status in the Webby Awards Banking and Bill Payment category, and is the sole representative from Australia.

Hailed as the Oscars of the Internet by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the internet, including websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile websites. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organisation that includes David Bowie, Harvey Weinstein, Arianna Huffington, AKQA Global Creative Director Rei Inamoto, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, and RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser.
