Booze shoes: Adidas gets ready for Oktoberfest with party-proof sneakers

Adidas has released a beer- vomit-proof sneaker to celebrate Oktoberfest.

The München sneakers feature a ‘DBPR’ (durable puke and beer repellant) and stitching, as well as a colour scheme to match the Lederhosen famously worn at the festival. A red and white checked inner lining matches the festival’s tablecloths.

Video ad for the proudly-German headquartered brand’s sneakers outlines the shoes’ features, and delivers the tagline ‘wear your best to the fest.’

The festival runs from 16 September to 3 October, and customers who purchase the €200 sneakers receive a free commemorative mug featuring the 43 Einhalb sneaker retailer brand.

It’s not the first time brands have used custom sneakers to engage consumers, with Pizza Hut introducing its ‘Pie Tops’ earlier this year, which enabled the wearer to order pizza directly from the shoes.
