Recent figures from Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) highlight a 17% growth in metropolitan advertising revenue for the month of August.

The 17% growth accounts for total revenue of $59.16 million, with the strongest market growth witnessed in Brisbane (25.41%). Perth followed with 24.36% growth on last year’s figures, Sydney grew by 14.85%, Melbourne increased by 14.45% and Adelaide grew by 12.42%.

Joan Warner, CEO of CRA attributed the strong result to increased advertising spend due to the election.

Warner explained, “The Federal election has had an impact on revenue figures for radio and this has proved very positive in terms of advertising spend for August.”
