German government batters Microsoft
The German government has warned against use of Internet Explorer.
The warning follows admissions by Microsoft that Internet Explorer was the weak link in the much reported hack attack by a Chinese source on Google’s systems. Coming from the Federal Office of Information Security and applies to version 6, 7 and 8.
Microsoft rejected the warning through spokesman Thomas Baumgaertner:
These were not attacks against general users or consumers… There is no threat to the general user, consequently we do not support this warning.”
