Havas on APAC domination trail

Share

Havas, the international advertising and communications services group, has bought a majority stake in Singapore boutique PR agency Siren-Communication and is renaming it Euro RSCG Siren.

This move follows recent acquisition of Australian creative agency Host and Hong Kong-based financial PR agency Porda, as well as the opening of Arnold Shanghai and a strategic alliance formed with MedMed, a large Chinese healthcare communications agency.

According to David Jones, global CEO of Havas, this is all part of the group’s plan to strengthen its presence in the region.

“We’ve talked about our desire to grow both our digital business and our presence in Asia and this is another strategic step in that direction that delivers on both criteria,” says Jones.

Siren-Communication, an agency that specialises in social media, digital PR and content generation will bring to the Euro RSCG network clients such as RBS, Lion Global Investors and ISC Global.

Founder of Siren, Karen Flynn, will also serve as managing director of the new agency.

“Joining Euro RSCG is a strategic move for us. Our combined strengths will offer clients the much needed edge in marketing communication particularly in the digital and consumer engagement space and opens the door to a number of global clients looking towards Asia for future growth,” says Flynn.
