The Communications Council releases identity

Newly formed industry body, The Communications Council has unveiled their new logo and identity.

The logo and identity were created by Toko in response to a collaborative brief prepared by the Advertising Federation of Australian (AFA), Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) and the Account Planning Group (APG).

“The new identity reflects the many and varied industry voices that The Communications Council will represent, while capturing the core principle of creativity that binds us all together. We also wanted to ensure the identity, like our industry, struck the right balance of professionalism and playfulness.” said chairman, Anthony Freedman.

The body was formed of the AFA, AWARD and APG, and will officially open New Year’s Day, 2010. AWARD and APG will retain their own identities and remain as stand-alone entities under The Communications Council.

“Designing an identity that is creative, forward looking, interesting, and intriguing, whilst at the same time able to garner respect in company boardrooms and in Canberra was a tough challenge. The various elements of the new look form a graphic representation as diverse as its members, constantly evolving, clearly representing the Council’s fresh and exciting intentions.” said deputy chairman of the Council, Richard Maddocks.

The Council is also currently looking for a CEO.
