Appointments
DDB Sydney appoints Matt Chandler as chief creative officer
19 July: Chandler joined the agency in 2014 as a senior copywriter, following stints in London at Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT. Since then, he has held the positions of creative partner, deputy executive creative director and most recently executive creative director.
DDB Sydney Group CEO Sheryl Marjoram said: “Matt is one of those rare humans that cares deeply about the work and equally about the people behind it. He is one of our industry’s greatest storytellers. Everyone leans in to listen and in these increasingly challenging times, emotional storytelling is what makes all the difference and he is going to be a formidable force.”
JOLT appoints Donna Tauro as group sales manager
22 July: JOLT, Australia’s sustainable cross-channel media and EV charging network, has announced the appointment of experienced sales leader Donna Tauro as its new group sales manager, as it continues to expand its Australian sales team. She joins JOLT following stints at Dentsu, oOh! and Carat.
JOLT sales director (NSW and QLD) Hannah Pritchard said: “JOLT is thrilled to announce Donna’s arrival to our Sydney sales team. Having previously worked with Donna, I’ve witnessed firsthand her remarkable strategic vision and deep industry expertise. Her contributions will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and disrupt the out-of-home landscape with JOLT’s unique and fast-scaling proposition in the market.”
GumGum appoints Kerel Cooper as chief marketing officer
23 July: GumGum, the leading contextual-first global digital advertising platform, has appointed award-winning media veteran Kerel Cooper as chief marketing officer.
As CMO, Cooper will be responsible for leading GumGum’s global marketing strategy, fostering brand and agency adoption of GumGum’s innovative advertising solutions and driving overall growth. His expertise in ad tech will be crucial in navigating the challenges and opportunities in the digital advertising landscape.
BMF appoints Stephen de Wolf as chief creative officer
23 July: Creative agency BMF has named renowned creative leader Stephen de Wolf as its new chief creative officer. He joins from DDB Australia where he spent the last three years as its national chief creative officer.
BMF CEO Stephen McArdle said: “As much as I felt uncomfortable hiring someone who shared my first name, it became clear during the time we spent with Wolfie that he would be a perfect fit for BMF. His creative track record is eye-wateringly good, he holds the respect of the very best agency and client leaders globally and, most importantly, he is an incredibly lovely, considered human – and at BMF that means everything.”
Chronos Agency appoints Nina Jung as chief revenue officer
23 July: Chronos Agency has appointed Nina Jung as its chief revenue officer, responsible for overseeing the Australian market and leading the company’s growth in the region. Jung brings more than 15 years of experience across the marketing, growth and startup sectors and has held senior leadership roles at MadeComfy, Delivery Hero, and HotelsCombined.com.

Havas Host appoints Sebastian Vizor as executive creative director
29 July: Havas Host has announced the appointment of Sebastian Vizor as executive creative director. Vizor will oversee Havas Host’s clients’ creative direction, bringing his extensive experience to help drive the agency into a new era. He joins from Australian Financial Review’s Boss Best Place to Work in 2024, The Royals, where he spent three years as executive creative director.
Havas Host CEO Gayle While said: “Seb has brought an infectious energy and strategic approach to the work. He cares about what he does. It’s a combination that’s already delivering exciting outcomes for our clients and the team. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
New Business
Justin Ruben launches Oblong Creative
23 July: After a career spanning 25 years working at agencies both here and abroad including BBH NY, Droga NY, Publicis Mojo and CHEP, Justin Ruben has opened Oblong Creative in response to the different needs of marketers and creatives alike.
Ruben says: “I’ve always loved the different shapes and forms that advertising can take and I believe now, it’s more important than ever, in this content-heavy world that we create work that cuts through and taps into culture. Oblong’s model will also allow us to take on projects of any size, depending on their potential and the impact they can have.”
