The Big Issue is launching its first ever social media campaign.

Running over Anti-Poverty Week 2010 (October 17-22), the ‘Everyone Needs a Chance’ campaign encourages people to use Facebook and Twitter to share a moment when someone has given them a chance in their life. The story that receives the most ‘likes’ on Facebook or retweets every week wins a subscription to the magazine.

The campaign is being promoted by the ‘The Women’s Subscription Enterprise’, a new arm of The Big Issue that raises money by selling subscriptions to the magazine for its programs that provide social and economic support to women who are abused, isolated, living in poverty or homeless.
