Corbis today announced that Amy Timbrell has been appointed sales director, Australia. Timbrell will oversee all sales and service for the Australian market, based in the company’s Sydney headquarters.

Amy’s decade-long sales and marketing career began in Australia and has since spanned Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. She has a long history with Corbis, having started with the company in 2002 in the UK as a marketing manager and later as a global product manager and regional manager, Artist Representation, responsible for a virtual team servicing nine European countries. Amy managed all European client advertising and branding projects from concept through to inception, overseeing production of shoots for companies such as GQ, Ford, Adidas and Vogue.

Corbis is a well-established international brand working with agencies, corporates and the media to supply licensed images and video footage, but it is a relatively new entrant into the Australian market after acquiring the Australian Picture Library (APL) in October 2006. Speaking to marketingmag.com.au, Amy says she is keen to get out there and see as many people as possible and build the brand.

When asked about Corbis recent announcement of their partnership with
Maysles Films, Amy was quick to highlight that Corbis Motion has over
25,000 clips of footage across many different areas, as well as archive
footage of news and events.

The experience that Amy brings with her to Australia will help Corbis to better serve the creative communities in both the commercial and media worlds, said Sophia Yu, VP, Sales for Asia Pacific at Corbis. “Australia is an important and growing market for us, and we’re very pleased with our momentum here.

I’m very excited about returning to Australia and continuing my career with Corbis, says Amy. The wealth of talent in Australia’s creative industries is huge with some great work coming out of the country that is increasingly being recognised on the global stage. I look forward to the challenge of working with Australia’s creative industry to deliver inspiring campaigns employing Corbis’ impressive and extensive visuals and rights clearances expertise.
