A boost in consumer confidence

Consumer confidence has increased this week by 4.8 points from July 2010’s figures and is 6 points higher than last year’s figures for the same time, reported Roy Morgan in their Consumer Confidence Rating.

The report attributes the increased rating to Australians feeling more satisfied about their financial situations, compared to a year ago. Personal finances are reported to be up by 4%, with many respondents stating that they’re better off financially than they were a year ago.

Gary Morgan said, “The improvements in how Australians view their personal financial situation with 34% (up 4%) saying they’re ‘better off financially’ than a year ago and only 25% (down 7%) saying they’re ‘worse off financially’ clearly show that this decision is welcome news to many Australians.”
