Facebook gains local currency

Facebook has announced that international advertisers will be able to purchase their ads in specific local currencies.
More than half of Facebook’s users are located outside the US, with a significant portion of the social networking giants advertising dollar being drawn from non-US locales.
Over the coming weeks, Facebook will launch the local currency feature which will enable advertisers to purchase space in 14 different currencies.
Facebook indicates advertisers have requested this feature, believing that it will help the advertisers plan their campaigns more easily, allowing them to forget currency exchange considerations.
Growing global advertising is a key priority the company said. The feature will not attract additional exchange fees.
Currencies to be rolled out will include:
- Australian Dollars (AUD)
- British Pound (GBP)
- Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Chilean Peso (CLP)
- Colombian Peso (COP)
- Euro (EUR)
- Danish Krone (DKK)
- Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)
- Japanese Yen (JPY)
- Norwegian Krone (NOK)
- Swedish Krona (SEK)
- Swiss Fanc (CHF)
- Turkish Lira (TRY)
- Venezuelan Bolivar (VEF)
- US Dollars (USD)
