Pizza Hut targets families in Pizza Mia launch

Pizza Hut has announced the launch of a permanent pizza range aimed at families, as the economic downturn begins to affect them at base levels.
Pizza Mia, which offers medium sized pizzas at $5 each when three or more are purchased, is likely going to attract families looking for affordable food options as the GFC clamps down. The initiative follows the company’s launch of Tuscani Pastas earlier this year.
Pizza Hut chief executive officer Albert Baladi said 2009 would be the company’s most significant year in its quest to regain market leadership in Australia.
“This is a year of growth and investment for Pizza Hut, making significant changes in all areas of the business. It began with the hugely successful introduction of pasta and will continue,” said Baladi.
Pizza Hut has also indicated that another source of sales has come from its online offering, which it attributes to its new single page ordering.
“It gives consumers the benefit of being able to see Pizza Hut’s entire menu on one page without the need to click through to multiple pages, speeding up the ordering process,” explained Baladi.
