Freeview has launched a free mobile app which allows Australian viewers to watch live and catch-up free-to-air content from all free-to-air networks.
The Freeview FV app, available on smartphones and tablets also has browsing features, a TV guide, favourites and reminders and a recommendations function.
“This is a fantastic new way for consumers to enjoy TV on their terms and never miss a thing, especially when they’re on the go and away from home,” says Freeview CEO Liz Ross.
“The Australian FTA industry has united to create and deliver a powerful mobile consumer experience – in no other market has an FTA industry collaborated to create its own live streaming app,” she says.
The launch of the app is supported by a dedicated TV campaign, out-of-home, digital and social media.
Freeview, the free digital television service, began in 2008, to present and promote free-to-air television content to Australians.
