Rumours are rife that magazine publisher POL Publishing has folded, perhaps evidence of yet another company succumbing to the pressure piled on by the world economic crisis.

Reliable sources have indicated that staff were notified late last week that the company’s publications will not plan for further issues, and its website has been disconnected.

POL operates out of Sydney and its publications are available worldwide. Its award-winning Pol Oxygen magazine focused on international design, art and architecture.

The company was also the publisher of BMW‘s own magazine, which has now been left in limbo by POL’s demise.

BMW corporate communications manager, Toni Andreevski, indicated to Marketing that the luxury car company was aware of the situation but still light on the details.

“We have been notified that POL Publishing is being handled by a number of liquidation firms and other company’s are also involved. Our legal department is waiting to get more details.”
