Walking billboards hit the streets

A new out of home initiative has been launched
by Walking Media, offering an eye-catching promotional tool for businesses that
aim to engage their target market one-on-one.

Promotional models wear backpacks
that are specifically designed to hold banners that are approximately 400mm x
900mm, creating walking billboards.

The service aims to combine the personal
interaction that promotional staff provide with the branding opportunities have
been generally restricted to larger vehicles.

“We recently undertook our first
promotion for Strike Bowling on Chapel Street and it proved an instant hit. The
reaction from pedestrians on this busy street was amazing,” said Justin Moran,
director, Walking Media.

Moran indicated that the introduction of these walking
billboards into the Australian market is the next evolution in movable media.

“Scooter
advertising, truck billboards and the like have been a popular choice for some
time, but they do have their restrictions. This initiative can get up close and
personal with our clients target market and still provide them with the
opportunity to do some serious branding,” explained Moran.
