Yellow Tail Winemakers is airing a Super Bowl commercial becoming the first wine brand to do so in decades.
Australian wine brand Yellow Tail is launching an ad campaign featuring a kangaroo party host at the first Super Bowl, the first by a wine brand in 40 years.
The 30-second spot will feature in the first half of today’s game. More than 120 million viewers are expected to be tuning in this year.
The ad was directed by Harald Zwart and created by US ad agency Burns Group, and features ‘Rooper’ the kangaroo, the appropriately named Yellow Tail Guy, and Australian actress Ellie Gonsalves.
Yellow Tail Winemakers sells eight million cases of wine in the USA annually.
The ad will feature along a variety of beer ads, a far more common Super Bowl advertising feature.
“This year, you’ll see something different on the Big Game,” the brand’s website proudly states.
