After joining forces in August last year, Marketo and Google Cloud are now working together to create new AI products for marketers.

As announced at Marketo’s Marketing Nation Summit in San Francisco, California, Marketo is working with Google experts to create new new offerings that aim to enhance the speed, scale and effectiveness of campaigns.

Leveraging Google Cloud’s machine learning technology, the offerings will enable marketers to better personalise and segment their audiences.

“Marketo is on a mission to build the world’s broadest and most powerful marketing engagement platform,” says Marketo CEO Steve Lucas. “With Google Cloud, our customers can leverage big data on a world-class cloud platform and deliver faster campaign performance to engage with billions of individuals in the moment, while providing the security that customers demand.”

“We are thrilled to have Marketo on Google’s Cloud Platform and look forward to better serving both them and their customers with secure real-time engagement as only Google Cloud can do,” says Diane Greene, chief executive officer, Google Cloud. “Moreover, we are also working with Marketo to bring our machine learning capabilities into the Marketo platform. We anticipate this being a significant and highly valued part of the next stage of their product offering.”

Lucas interviewed Greene as part of Monday morning’s session of keynotes that kicked off the Marketing Nation Summit.

Marketo Audience AI, the innovation on which the two companies are working for Marketo’s platform, will use Google Cloud machine learning to identify an expanded set of target contacts from a marketer’s own database, based on historical lead conversion patterns. Audience AI will find lookalike audiences in the marketer’s own database that have a high likelihood of conversion.

Other news so far from the Summit includes Marketo’s acquisition of Bizible, the provider of marketing performance management software.
