Zipping across the Harbour with Kathmandu

Outdoor lifestyle brand Kathmandu created an experiential ziplining event at Sydney Harbour over the weekend. The ‘Urban Zipline’ had an impressive view and was blasted across social media, encouraging Australians to enjoy the great outdoors.
The sold-out Urban Zipline also launched the brand’s partnership with mental health organisation Beyond Blue. Kathmandu donated the full ticket price, plus matching every entry fee to raising funds for the Beyond Blue Support Service, a free and immediate short-term counselling service available to anyone in Australia.
The VIP event featured an exclusive performance from Australian musician G Flip while attendees zipped across the Harbour, reaching up to 40km per hour. The activation had a pop-up Kathmandu store stocking the 2021 winter puffer range in fun and vibrant new colourways, as well as limited edition beanie badges.
“Last month, we announced our new purpose of improving the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors, and this event is just the first step in encouraging more people to feel the transformative power of being out there in nature,” said Kathmandu’s chief customer officer, Eva Barrett.
The Urban Zipline is the first in a series of events that will see Kathmandu become the official partner of #teambeyondblue designed to support those who take on anything from individual fitness challenges to large-scale running, cycling or swimming events.
