Bauer ditches Women’s Fitness magazine

Bauer Media has announced it will stop printing Women’s Fitness magazine because it has been found to be “not commercially sustainable for the longer term”.

The magazine’s last issue will be the November edition, on sale 9 October.

Bauer Media CEO Matthew Stanton said the staff on the magazine, which is licensed from the UK, had worked with dedication over the past three years.

“It is not an easy decision to close a magazine and we have certainly considered all the options before coming to this conclusion.

“Health and fitness are important pillars across our Bauer Media magazine brands and we will continue to produce excellent content in this space for relevant titles, as well as our current digital assets and new multi-platform initiatives to be rolled out in the near future.

“I take this opportunity to thank the teams here at Bauer, as well as the advertisers and retailers, who have supported Women’s Fitness during its lifecycle.”

Mi9 sells TV listings and metadata service HWW to Gracenote

Nine Entertainment Co’s digital media company Mi9 has sold its wholly owned subsidiary HWW to Gracenote, part of the Tribune Media Company.

HWW is Australia’s leading provider of TV listings and metadata for free-to-air and subscription television. Its business has evolved from focusing on broad content syndication to providing metadata for the TV and entertainment industries.

Gracenote provides music and video content and technologies to entertainment products and brands.

Mi9 said in a statement that the sale aligns with its focus “to deliver excellent customer experiences across digital and television platforms, and compelling media solutions to its agency and advertiser clients”.
